Installing Nav Display Screen On My Rx400H

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have been driving my lexus rx400h (2007) model for more than an year now and honestly i absolutely enjoying the car. car is perfect, except that it's only missing the in-built sat-nav. so i am here for some help from you, i have seen this on ebay which is used one and available for £350. my question, is it possible to install lexus sat nav display unit on my car which hasn't got a factory fitted sat-nav unit? if so, is there anything i need to know except that buying this part and installing it.

many thanks.

It is not just replacing the head unit as the navi DVD player is sitting in the boot.

Hi Radoslav

Thanks for your response, but i wonder if its simple plug and play with the head unit or do i need to buy some extra cables or anything like that?

Will see if i can find a navi dvd player to buy online.

Thanks again.

I don't know for sure, but the navigation is getting signals from the wheels as well (through the ECU). That's why the mark on screen is moving whilst no satelite coverage (tunnel, etc.). So I guess (but only guess) it is not just plug and play. On the other hand on my previous car i did install a cruise control stack as everything was already there except for the switch.

Hi,if the first generation IS is anything to go by the answer to your question would be no its not, before you go spending money I would suggest you find out if you car has the wiring loom for both the head unit and the module that plays the disc, before proceeding any further.
