Auto Lights Coming On In Daylight

I think the light sensor is positioned near to the rear view mirror. I guess that bird droppings or a stray leaf stuck to the windscreen could be causing the trouble.

Hi just checked and the sensor is a small bump on the passenger side close to the screen on top of the dash, when you cover it the lights come on.

Maybe I was looking at the rain sensor which is situated in front of the rear view mirror .. I had assumed that the same device also sensed the light level.
