Changing Headlight Bulbs

HI,

Wonder if anybody can point me in the right direction.

Is there a guide on how to change the headlight bulbs on the IS200?

I'm wanting to put some nightbreakers in.

Looks very fidly and read that you have to remove the headlights and move this and that??

No you don't have to remove the headlights to change a bulb.

You just pull them out of the back if the light. Twist and pull... Very very easy. The passenger side is fiddly if you have big hands because the ecu and windscreen washer fluid bottle are in the way.

Even if you're fitting HID's there's no need to remove the actual light. Finding a place for the ballasts is your only problem

ok so you only have/need ballast if you fitting HID's?

I don't know what you mean by night breaker... Is that just a marketing name.

The car as standard takes hb4 bulbs, pop out, pop in. Really is that simple mate :)

HB3 main beam. HB4 dipped and foglight. Night breakers will fit straight in as they are only a standard size. As Chris says just twist and pull.

ahhh eurocarparts have sent me some H4 nightbreakers....doh

Don't talk to me about euro car-parts....Idiots....Sent me 2 cree hb4 bulbs and one was broken, took photo as required before a replacement sent, They then sent a hb4 HId bulb as a replacement...completely wrong type.

Ordered two normal bulbs wrong ones sent, Finally i had a hid kit off them and 2 wks later ballasts knackered. Can't be bothered with them any more,,,bought elsewhere.

Try getting the right cabin filter for the IS from ECP.......

Just replaced my bulbs at lunchtime.

It might be worth mentioning - especially for the passenger side - it's easier to remove the bulb with the connector still in place. You can then use a small screwdriver to release the connector. I spent a while trying to remove the connector before the bulb before it dawned on me...

All done pretty painless apart from a few scrapes on the back of my hand when removing the passenger side bulb :megaangry:

Took a gamble and got mine of eBay for a bit less than that - looking forwards to the drive home to see what they're like...
