Dpf Removal And New Mot Rules

Well, this seems to have put a damper on DPF removal, although not sure how it will affect cars which still have the dpf in place but its insides removed and emulator fitted?

I'm surprised that there's only been a couple of posts on this thread so far!

It does warrant discussion even though it may fall on deaf ears.

I do believe that Katrina's was cut out and not fully removed but still failed the MOT:

Yep, I would've thought that there would have been more chat about it too Kevin. Not really sure how this will pan out in the long run. Around this area, just about every Land Rover ( all derivatives ) have had the DPF's completely removed and new pipework in place.

As for the Lexus, I'm surprised that if it is still fitted, albeit without the insides, that it is failing. I know for a fact that they still pass the emissions test. I suppose that at the moment it's flavour of the month and they are really looking hard - whether that'll always be the case remains to be seen. I guess that we're not going to hear from too many folk whose vehicles have passed the MOT, as that would probably drop their garage in it.
