Temp Gauge Dropping After Heavy Acceleration

Hey,

I noticed today that when my car is up to temperature, after putting my foot flat to the floor for around 10-15 seconds the temp gauge drops by around 2-3mm, then after lifting returns back to normal after another 10 seconds or so - is this normal behavior?

As your car picks up speed, your radiator will receive more air. Could the cooling be causing the temperature drop under heavy acceleration??

Worth checking your radiator pressure cap. Depending on how many miles your car has done, i've heard of this failing from a number of people. Or could be sticking thermostat.
