Took Her For A Nice Run Out

Took the beast out to newcastle yesterday . Couple of hours drive . Haven't done any miles really for ages , I've only done just over 2000 miles in 7 months so felt great to get out .

But guess what .aston Martin tagging my backside for a while waiting for a response .audi rs4 same ,bmw 335 same .i just let them pass on the dual carridge ways they were ok drivers nothing dangerous about them but the worst of them was a brand new Astra vxr turbo he followed me as I was following a car and caravan on a B road .he had passengers in too.i wasn't going to pass the car and caravan as I know the road and it's a windey road so know where to pass safely .the idiot decided to pass me and the car ,caravan and just missed a car head on , it was so close what an idiot I don't know how he got back in .people like that don't deserve powerful cars .

AnywY, not one of those cars mentioned would be a match to the beast, bar the Aston depending on which one it is I suppose

Yeh glen I agree , oh I for got there was a jag xfr too .but I must admit that one was tagging me for a bit so I let him past .i decided to tag him for a bit until the carridge way was clear and he tried to pull away .i did have a chuckle to myself when I stayed with him ha he pulled over and let me by .

My verdict on the isf is this .

It pulls really well at low revs , seems fast but then as the revs pic up and it goes through the gears it becomes scary fast lol omg I know there are a lot of faster cars than the isf but if it fells this quick in ours what does it feel like in there's lol .

I don't think the isf gets enough credit and publicity it deserves more , I think top gear should show it more ,it's been on once and they never mention it , they mention bmw,merc ,porche etc , it's a shame .i mean the isf is quicker than some porche so why not show it .

Mmmmmmm, bury your right foot and see you later to the XFR & VXR. Aston might by tricky and the F will loose to an RS4, i've tried and lost. Did have 3 passengers at the time but the RS4 was quick!!

It might have been modified mate you never know . They are quick cars though the rs4

Despite my porky chums i still think the RS4 would have done me, most annoying thing about it was that it was a bloody estate!!!

Ha they are awesum cars .i think if one was pulling a caravan it would still be super quick , the engine is a masterpiece .but spoiled by being an audi and very bland interior .

Modded rs4 and stock xfr would both sit with the isf.

There are very few cars as fast as the isf, love it!

I agree stu . Just wish some drivers didn't drive so dangerously trying to overtake etc , some cars that try or do overtake me in stupid places ie blind bends , brow of a hill , what are they doing . A range rover supercharged thing followed me for a while a few months ago , there were 5 cars in front of me and we were all going up a slight hill with a blind top . The looney overtook all of us and he had no idea if any poor innocent driver was going to appear over the hill top.bloody crazy all just to prove a point ,

The 2006-2009 RS4 is not as quick as the F in standard form, and the estate would definitely not be. New one would be though obviously!!

RS5 wasn't much cop of the lights the other day either ;0) so much for 4wd traction! Probably the driver!

Really, before the F had a IS250 sport no one had a go. Driven an F for the last 4 years and everyone wants to have a go! Not sure if people think its a lexus so wont be that quick or they know what it is and want to try and keep up. To be fair very few do! Lol

I used the paddles from time to time on the dual carrigeway just to play a bit . Bloody hell the car thuds into gear so fast I could feel the chassis twitching lol felt like it was going to snap lol .how can something lock into gear so fast .

I know what you mean. I still haven't met anyone (when I've been out of the car) who knows what lies underneath the F. I really think that almost every other 'petrol head' thinks it's the same as all the other IS lexus out there but with an aftermarket exhaust setup and big wheels. That said the faces of those people are a picture when I tell them what engine it has; especially when they ask by saying "is that the larger 2.5ltr model?"

I find it particularly amusing when those drivers come along who think they have every right to overtake anything in front of them (they are usually in a range rover or large diesel-engined German car). The F must raise a few eyebrows in those cases!

Ha yeh Keith i was in ats tyres a while back , one of the lads in there said oh that looks a mean Lexus is it a 3 ltr ha when I said 5 he couldn't believe it , I was really suppressed how many people don't even know what one is and it's capabilitys . I think it's up there with the super cars but it's not recognised as that , like I've said before why hasn't it had more credit than it gets .anyone that's been in my car have been blown away by its power , they couldn't believe how brutal it is .

Yep, know what you mean. At the higher revs the gear change in sport mode is 'heavy' but then the power kicks in and you go again! Love it!!! It just keeps going!!!

One of the best things about the car imo. Very few people expect that sort of performance from a lexus and are so surprised by how quick they are. Love it! Subtle, power, awesome!

Sounds like the sort of knob I'd expect to drive a VXR! ;)

Had a bog standard Carerra up my bum on the M25 this morning. Given we were on the camera section before the Dartford Crossing, decided to move to the middle lane and let him past. Sure enough, he passes me at around 90, then slows down for the 50 bit (still 60 mind).

I picked a better toll booth than he did, and we ended up level at the barriers! ;)

I chucked on the Apexi throttle controller(red mode), put it in Sport, and floored it. The chaps face was a picture! Must have made six car lengths on him before I slowed down. Had a face like a bulldog licking pee when he finally passed me!! ;)

Such a good all-rounder the IS-F. :)
