I'm on the verge of buying an LS 430, I believe it's got the UL pack, seems to have everything, heated and cooled seats front and rear, reclining rear seats, adjustable suspension, etc etc. It also has a newly fitted LPG kit, don't quite understand why somebody would fit an LPG kit, then sell the car the next month! (change of circumstances I guess, or maybe they over-extended themselves).

Any advice welcome, it's a 2002 car, and up at £3,500, 95k miles.

Cheers,

Dave

I would be a little wary too. Will you ensure it has a brand new MOT before / as you buy it ? and have you seen the past MOT advisories too ? I presume everything works fine and there are no suspension issues.

I agree with malc, check mot's, also check air suspension works as if it is faulty it costs £££, as it's only a dealer part, also listen out for the air suspension compressor noise on start up, it should only sound for around 5 seconds, any longer, it will need replacing

First thing you do is push and pull every switch & button you can find, and i will tell you there are lots of em.

Give the car a thorough looking over, and under, in the wheel wells, under the hood, remove the boot spare wheel cover and have a good look around there, whilst you are there, look either side of the boot, satnav on the right, fuse box on the left, check for rust, fluid or anything that looks out of place.

Test drive it, does it pull to any side, gear changes should be smooth and almost not noticable, steering should be smooth and precise, they do handle quite well for a yacht with wheels, does it pull under braking, any rattles or knocking.

If you can, take another lexus owner along with you for a second set of eyes.

Bozman Dave, There is a red one at a dealers in Brum which fits the description. Why not let us know as it may be known by someone on here who could help.

Messi, have you seen the one in Brum. I could have fancied that, going on their description but wont travel that far. Been disappointed too many times. Did 360 miles on Sunday, up at 6am, on the road 7.15am, to Leicester and back cos the dealers description didn't mention the FILTHY (biege?)seats. So dirty I dont think they would have cleaned up at all

9 owners on a car that's done 95000 miles? That doesn't sound right, I'll still have a look to see if it's been well cared for and if the milage adds up

So the footballing legend had a look at it for me, and it sounds like a right dog! Messi has saved me a wasted day and half a tank of fuel, for which I'm extremely grateful. Especially as I know he must be extremely busy being an iconic international footballer!

Seriously, thanks mate, we've all been there too many times, putting miles on, burning fuel, and turning up to find a car which truly disappoints, so wonderful to avoid all of that! Nice one.

For everybody else, here's another one to avoid! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201403212700579/usedcars?logcode=visc

As soon as I have sorted out my gold membership privileges, I will be offering mine, so don't waste your time on anything else just yet.

What I will be offering is a genuine car with Low miles (64000) open to any test. and another Genuine car with 112000 miles again open to any test. I am only selling one so whichever goes first, I am keeping the other. bilmac
