Rx300 Sat Nav Questions....

Hi all,

I'm so confused with the sat navs in Lexus RX 'Gen 1/2/3' etc. I have a 2004 RX300, I thought that meant Gen 1.

Just been on Lexus map updates and it appears I have "Generation 01" I removed the DVD disc, 2004/2005 to check the maps s/w - "86271 - 24123"

Now I have just bought the following disc (on attached image) as an upgrade, will the new disc be compatible?

Hi the only way to find out is put it in a see,if it comes up with an error message or say can not read disc then you know its the wrong one,part number for yours should be(which is the same as mine) - PZ445-X01-EU-09 10,11(the 09,10,11 being 2009,2010,2011 etc).Hopefully you have bought the right one.

You have bought quite an old car in detail terms and so you will have to have patience to upgrade certain things. Did you get this disc from a Lexus dealer or elsewhere - if the latter such places do not have the records of what YOUR car needs.

Elsewhere, thats a shame.... Can only try it and see what happens. Other than that, i will have a sat nav disc for sale.....

Not yet mate, not arrived.

I questioned usability after doing some research on Lexus Map Updates and it mentioned about which disc to order for which specific system.....

Disc came today,

Was looking forward to the updated maps!!.....doesn't work.

Obviously for a later model system.

Looks like I'll be putting on eBay, unless someone on here wants it....

Any ideas where I can get an updated disc for Gen1 system - not lexus directly! (£££££)

Gen1 ? How do you tell. Probably is, in 2004 RX300

However, what I'm getting confused about is it seems Gen1 is a hard drive based system according to some info online??!! But I have a DVD drive??

Can anyone give clarity?

Mine is Gen 01 as well in 2004 RX300 and the 13/14 disc works fine.

By the way, if this disc worked, you can't have a Gen01 sat nav, it plays from gen3,mac cording to his listing?

From the image you quote mine is the same as yours !

The one I bought, in the listing at the bottom says it was a replacement for, and had a long list of the orig discs. Is your disc in this list?

Hi disc is for generation3 Sat Nav ,so will not work in a generation1 Sat Nav

Bit gutted today, after I inserted he 'new' disc that doesn't work on my system, then put mine back in, I've noticed that I can no longer add destinations while on the move, like I did before.

I've read about the lockout but I can't access the menu to do it - what's the process for a Gen01 system?

Scudney is quite correct. The reference number on the set that I bought reads PZ445-X01EU-11 (2011-2012 ver.1) which works perfectly in my 2003 RX300.
