Hi everyone,

Been looking for a good quality used car for a few months; went to Mercedes/BMW/Audi etc but the service at the first two was shocking so decided to hop over to my local Lexus dealership - last week I placed a deposit on a diesel IS220, on approval of my other half (but she's good to me!).

I've read this forum and found it a wealth of information regarding the marque; I've used it to question the dealer regarding warranty information, potential problems with the car and all kinds of other details - so I'd like to thank you all for your input.

We're heading for another test drive on Monday, but all being well we'll receive it within a couple of weeks!

Best of luck with the new car. The IS220D is not really considered to be Lexus' finest car, with lots more horror stories than petrol models of similar ages.

Make sure you get a good warranty with it.

I picked the diesel as I regularly do 500+ mile runs to Yorkshire (twice a month at the mo) so needed something which would give me the economy on those runs.

It's direct from Lexus main dealer, so I hope the warranty would be worth it!
