Booked In For My 6Yr/60K Service

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

So I'm all booked in for the big 6yr/60k service with Lexus Woodford.

Car is going in on Monday 9th June.

After I mentioned through emails that other owners had got better quotes from Toyota dealers for the service, I was very pleased to be told the price is now £645 which includes VAT and all parts. :)

Just goes to show it's worth asking questions about these things as my previous quote was a more eye watering £840! ;)

I'm also getting my boot liner at the same time (decided it would be cruel to steal Stu's one! Lol).

Will let you know how it all goes nearer the time.

Cheers.

Peter :)

Good stuff. Lexus Cambridge price-matched from someone else on here and I'm getting mine for £600 all in. I intend to ask the technicians how they will be checking the valve clearances; if you get chance I'd be interested to know what Woodford say?

Thanks Stu. :)

Names down for the meet chap. ;)

May be a bit groggy after flying back from LA though! Lol.

You not tempted to get a set of the precision LED's for your car?? ;)

They really do look the nuts mate. :)

Heard back from Lexus Woodford on the valve clearances Keith.

Apparently they do an 'audible' check! That's it. ;)

If it sounds bad, guess they then tell you it's a mega bill to fix! Lol.

The lifters are hydraulic and they cannot therefore be adjusted.

Just thought I should let you know.

Cheers.

Cheers Peter, I thought as much. Sounds like a bit of a kop-out but if they are not adjustable there's nothing much they can do. Somehow I doubt there would be any issues with them anyway.

I agree Keith. Seem pretty bullet-proof from what I can see.

Getting them to change my gearbox fluid as well. :)

Noticing it's slow to change from cold? Holds the gears longer than I'd like. May be perfectly normal, but thought I'd get it done anyway for peace of mind.

Getting new rotors and pads up front next week, brake calipers painted, 4 new Vredsteins, wheels re-painted in anthracite, got my flat bottom steering wheel to pick up tomorrow along with my TRD oil cap...

Just need my illuminated door sills and real carbon pillar trims from Houston! ;)

With the 6yr/60k service done, that's me done for a bit anyway! :)

Pete - Not doing an exhaust yet then??

Mine is the same from cold fella. Can't hurt to get the oil changed though.

Look forward to seeing your wheel and calipers.

Lol. Me to. Not expecting much if anything but creating dual pipes as opposed to 2 into 1, removing rear muffler and making back boxes smaller must improve gas flow a smidge. We will see. Tempted to do a run before August if you are interested?

That could work Stu. :)

Will need to be a Saturday though. Already taking time off for the caliper painting, brakes, wheel refurb & service! ;)

Be nice if we can get a third with no mods??

Cheers.

Peter

A lot of work planned Pete! Always wated illuminated door sills but apparently not plug and play and hence didn't want to mess with wiring!

I don't mind coming along for dyno as an unmodded car, be inteterested to see the gains you get.

Also Pete when you next free in evening, I'd like to come over and see your light mods you have done.

That's the 3 we need then. I'll see what happens and try to sort something.

I was in my local dealers today , well next door at the toyota garage . Bank Holliday weekend and the full service receiption and workshops were closed all weekend , no service manager he was off , no mechanics they were off , no parts . What a dealership , that's really bad trading that .they are closed tomorrow and prob Monday I didn't even ask that bit .

When I bought my car from Leicester Lexus they are always open .

Hardly seems right since people have extra time off to go out shopping.
