Strange Grinding Sound Going From 1St To 2Nd Gear On Is220

Hi Guys,

I have a 07 plate IS220 run around 57k miles, off late I could hear a low grinding sound while shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. It doesnt sound too harsh but is still audible. Also the lever feels very notchy and rubbery and is one of the worst I have seen on a car.

Anyone else had a similar problem and any action taken to resolve this?

Manual or Auto

If manual it could dual mass / clutch

IS220 was only available in manual.

But yeah I'd say clutch on the way out. Is the biting point quite high?

I got 06 @ getting same problem, Manual isn't the best for Japanese car,had it checked its clutch mine Judders aswell in 1st gear but clutch dosnt slip drives fine mpg is good so it could b flywheel, do clutch @ dmf will cost approx £700.when it's cold it dosnt crunch in 1 @ 2 nd gear only does it when it's warm,does urs do same???????

Would a clutch and flywheel not cost considerably more than £700 to replace? I would have guessed at closer to £1500 at a dealer.

Dealer would charge that much I took my car to a Manuel gearbox specialist he quoted this price

U can buy clutch @ flywheel on eBay as a package
