Help! No Electrics, Power, Nothing! 220D - Urgent

Recommended Posts

Well... I've had the car a week, and this morning on the way to work, I stalled it at the lights, and everything died!

Cant operate windows, doors, start the engine, nothing!

Its unfortunate because I haven't even signed up to the AA yet, still on my list of things to do and they wont do recover within 24 hours unless you splash out 100 quid.

Luckily enough i manage to park it on the side of the road, 2 mins from work, where I am now.... and there it lies.... abandoned.

Last night I was also reading the book/manual so I've left it by the side of my bed, so I cant even look up what the problem could be?!!? grrr

Ive search the forums and the internet to no avail.

I'm thinking that it could be a fuse problem, as there is no power whatsoever! Often when the Battery is drained on a car there's even enough power to use the Hazard lights. Not on mine, which makes me think its got to be a fuse issue.

It was running fine until this morning.

Any help would be super appreciated!!!!

thanks

Jon

Had that happen on my is200 a few years back. It was indeed a fuse. A big bugger and a right sod to get out and replace. But.... mine was caused by a numpty connecting the jump leads the wrong way round and buggering my car. Hoping its not that on yours.

Try lifting the cover off the fuse boards ....think there are 2 located on the right hand side under the bonnet. Take each one out, inspect and return to its original place. Be careful doing this you don't want to put one back in the wrong place. I used to stick a bit of mask tape next to the slot i had just accessed.

Start with the higher rated fuses. Hopefully you will find a duff one (hold it up to a light source to inspect the loop...you'll know when you find a popped one) and there should be a spare in either location to get you going.

Battery terminals are connected OK I presume??

Good luck with it.

Yeah Battery terminals are connected! Cheers for the advice mate! ILike you say I must make sure to put them all back in the right place!!! I'll try it out later.. The AA want like 250 for a membership that includes towing it to a garage! Crazy dough!
