I have noticed that when I put the car into drive I feel a slight vibration on the steering wheel, this has only started a couple of days ago, when I put back into neutral it goes. Has anyone had this problem, ifso how did you fix it. Cheers all.

Norman, my 2p's worth is that your symptoms point to worn engine and/or tranny mounts. The tranny mount is easy to replace. The engine mounts are more fiddly and involves raising the engine slightly. Funnily enough, my mk4 is with Japex (Hemmel Hempstead) at the moment having them all replaced. Don't know what the final bill is yet. I could let you know later if you like. Toyota/ Lexus parts used. Cheap Chinese rubbish is touted on the internet----avoid. What mileage has your car done?

This might seem like a silly question, but is your A/C on or off? I found the same small vibration after having my LS460 serviced, and it was bugging me a lot.

It turned out that I had turned off the A/C (had the windows open on the way back) and with the A/C off the idle speed was down to 500rpm which was just too low for comfort and caused the vibration. With the A/C on again, the idle lifted to 700rpm and the vibration was completely gone.

Engine mount part numbers are 12361-50100

Looks like from amayama they are about £80 each so I would be expect about £130+vat each in UK

Looks like 12371-50060 is the transmission mount

Amayama is about £26 again I would expect £50+vat in UK
