Installed a new AEM air intake to let the car breathe a bit better but still keep the quietness of the engine... It's pretty damn great!

For anyone wanting to hear a bit more of the V6 whilst still keeping quiet around town then I would suggest getting the AEM intake.

There's a few different manufacturers to choose from, however the AEM also comes with a module that fits on the MAF sensor to stop the engine light issues and also stop any incorrect changes in fuel governed by the ECU. That's not the only benefit of the AEM but it's worth it just for that!

The installation too an hour and is very straight forward.

There is no change in engine sound under 2.5k rpm... A little rumble up to 3k then growls like a beauty from about 4.5k rpm!

Anyone who wants the growl on foot down but quiet at lower end then you should consider this!

hi

thanks for posting this, it sounds great! a few questions:

1) can you provide costs for this project and where to get the parts

2) is it possible to write a guide on how to change it, or upload some resources that tell you how?

3) does this increase BHP?

4) do you have to declare this to insurance, as it could be argued the car is not factory stock, or been modified

thanks

mine is similar, the K&N one.

you need to tell insurance, mine was no increase though.

hp gain is questionable, K&N say gains of 10-12hp which would be fantastic, i would say 5hp or more would be more resonable.

has anyone done a rolling road to verify a hp gain?

Just spotted your post...hope this helps...my comments in RED for you...here ya go:

hi

thanks for posting this, it sounds great! a few questions:

1) can you provide costs for this project and where to get the parts - eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121069847366

(around £180 inc postage) - A great US company...bought a few other bits off them since and they have been very good

2) is it possible to write a guide on how to change it, or upload some resources that tell you how? - As VERY simple guide comes with the above induction kit

3) does this increase BHP? - If anyone tells you that increases your BHP by more than 0BHP then I would look for proof or get it tested on a rolling road ;-) I say that as in all honesty buy it for the growl and not any BHP increase as it would be so small if anything that you would not feel it at all. However the growl gives lower end torque the placebo effect so feels like it has more pull

4) do you have to declare this to insurance, as it could be argued the car is not factory stock, or been modified - ANY modification to your vehicle should be declared to your insurer....some do...some don't...I am a doer!

thanks
