Expansion Tank & Temp Sensor Help!

Hi guys,

2 questions.... Does the expansion tank come off of the fan housing?

And my rad fans stopped working (temp went almost red!) fans work so I replaced the temp sensor (fan switch)..... But now the fan is running constant :(

Any ideas?

the expansion tank is attached to the fan housing it's a complete unit so carnt be separated, for the 2nd question are you sure the switch is the correct one?, is the AC on? That's 2 places I would start looking

Is there more than 1 switch on the car? Or do you mean is the replacement part the correct one?

I've had the ac on and off, the fans are overrunning (full wack) not just low like when the ac is on

There is only one temp switch at the bottom of the rad, I meant is the replacement the same as the one that got replaced?

Got it off my usual parts guy

Gave him the reg and asked for a temp sensor/switch

the first thing to check is that if you disconnect the wiring connector from the switch the fans stop. If the fans don't stop then check the wiring in case the insulation has been damaged and the wires are shorted together.

If the fans do stop then the switch is either faulty or it is the wrong one. The switch should only be closed when at a temperature of around 90 degrees C.

Yeah the fans do stop, I've got a replacement switch coming as the guy suspected the new1 may be at fault.
