Is200 Spluttering P0110 Map Sensor

Hey Guys!

Im having issues and would love some advice! im driving a 2000 plate IS200 which ive had for 5 year now.

Had the car serviced this week with the usual oil/filter, air and sparks. the next day driving to work the car started chugging big time, hooked up my ecu reader and error codes were telling me misfires on 3 of the cylinders.

So i know it was not the sparks, just had them replaced. So replaced all coil packs the problem was then resolved idling was back to normal!

BUT now when driving from 2000rmp to 3000rpm the car splutters and has severe lack of power compared to normal. Checked for more error codes and i have P0110 which i know refers to the Intake Air Temperature sensor.

However after doing some reading am i right in saying this is refering to the MAP sensor, which may need replacing?

Where is the MAP sensor located?? do anyone have a picture i can view so i can check connections and/or replace it.

Also is it safe to drive it short distances at the moment?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hey can anyone identlify this as the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, found it on eBay, looking for a replacement:

AND i got a pic of the manifold from an IS200 below, im guessing the MAP sensor is the box in the middle with the red connector, looks like it has vacuum pipes coming from it. Can someone confirm this for me. Cheers!

**UPDATE**

So today i replaced the MAP/Vacuum sensor which is the picture i identified above and is located on the right had side of the inlet manifold. I also tested the harness and wiring to the MAP/Vacuum sensor these were all absolutely fine. I also tested the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor within the airbox, including the harness and they are working fine aswell.

The car idles perfectly but has complete lack of power when trying to accelerate above 2000 rpm, took it for a spin on the motorway just, trying to build the speed up is very hard and forget about the VVTI kick above 4000 rpm its completely non existent! The EML does not display any faults at all so im stuck as to what i do next.

I have now tried CAT cleaner to try shift any ******* but nothing. Im going to try some Redex petrol injector cleaner just incase the fuel injectors are caked in crap after the misfires i talk about on my original post.

I had a look down the throttle body today, it needs a clean, which im doing tomorrow with carb cleaner and a toothbrush.

On my motorway trip i took some pics of live data off my ECU reader and attached them below:

But just for comparision, These first 4 are me stationary with the engine running:

IMAG2233.jpg?_subject_uid=79324113&w=AAA

IMAG2234.jpg?_subject_uid=79324113&w=AAC

IMAG2235.jpg?_subject_uid=79324113&w=AAB

These pics below are me driving at 70mph:

IMAG2236.jpg?_subject_uid=79324113&w=AAC

IMAG2240.jpg?_subject_uid=79324113&w=AAB

IMAG2241.jpg?_subject_uid=79324113&w=AAC

IMAG2243.jpg?_subject_uid=79324113&w=AAA

Im kinda looking at a blank canvass with no fault code eliminating possible causes as i go, any suggestions guys?? For people that understand more than i do, are there any anomalies when comparing the pics when im stationary with the engine running compared to me travelling at 70mph I really need some help, pleassse!

Hi try the old spark plugs if the garage still have them did the car run ok before service

Yep, the car was running perfectly before the service. Ill try sticking the old sparks back in then. Do you think the spacings are off?? The new ones i used are identical to the old ones. However one of the packets i took 2 out of was a bit battered, the sparks looked fine though.

use the more reply options, attach files section, choose file, attach this file and then there will be an option to insert it into the text

Hey Colin, i have tried this and i dont have an attached files section appear, ive seen the tutorial and know what should appear but it doesnt appear after ive clicked the more reply option button.

Have now changed the spark plugs again and cleaned the throttle body, it is still the same. Put any load on the car what so ever when driving and it goes no where, starts to judder aswell giving a nasty blocked noise of some sort. Feels like im constantly going up hill.

Does anyone know of a specialist Lexus/Toyota mechanic?? other than main dealers that will charge me the earth just to read a fault that i cant pick up myself.

Cheers!

You replaced the wrong part. The Air Intake Sensor is the one at the front of the air filter box. It's the black sensor that easily pulls out.
