Gs 450H Hybrid Out Of Warranty Reliability

Recommended Posts

Hi This is my first post on this Forum.

I currently own a GS300 (2005 Model ) which I have owned for few months.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Lexus experience .

My Brother is looking to buy a GS450H model with 100k Miles (2007 model)

It is out of the warranty period and still running on the original Battery Packs.

when the Battery packs eventually fails ( as all batteries do) can he carry on using the car

without the Hybrid parts?

With the engine run normally without any problems?

I am assuming that it will be too expensive to replace the batteries and not worth the expence

of replacing them (unless you do very high milleages.)

Dealers can run a Battery check, mine is a 2007 with nearly 100k and a couple of months back came back with a top health pass on the batteries. There are plenty of reports of Prius with over 250k miles on the original batteries, the hybrid system on my 450h is the least of your worries IMO.

Check suspension and water pump as both are expensive to fix and far more likely to go wrong than the hybrid system.

thanks for that information,

How do you think the values of this Hybrid car will hold up as the car gets older?

I am sure the cars reliability is very good, but maybe others may not be sure about buying the cars

after few years.
