post-26366-0-74075700-1405960906_thumb.jJust before I went out today I thought to check the oil level in the gear box, after wiping the dip stick I then proceeded to check the oil the reading was at the full (hot mark) the engine hadn't been turned over,so I gave it another try and again the same reading, the third reading was the same!! that got me thinking Have I got too much oil in it,I then noticed a pinkish mark at the end of a tube by a gizmo that had a few pieces of wire fitted into it.Now not knowing what it was all about I took a pic of it in the hope that someone on here can say what it is, and why it it happening

Cheers Norman

Not sure what the part is but the pink crud is normally dried coolant, looks like a seeping gasket seal somewhere around the area.

The transmission fluid level cannot be checked without the engine running and following the correct proceedure (explained in your owner's manual).
