Not according to Toyodiy.com they are priced at around £80.00 including the 3 required gaskets.

Part number is 35330-30070 Strainer Assy,Valve Body Oil.

Try ringing your dealer again but just give them the part number and see if the price is the same.

Just make sure they use the correct Toyota specification fluid (Type IV).

Not sure what they mean by "fluid change" as to completely flush the system you are looking at around 20 litres and at £60.00/5 litres £140.00 + VAT inc filter looks very cheap.

If they just drain the sump and refill that only replaces 2 litres, there is no drain on the torque convertor unlike Mercedes.

Cheers for link steve for air pump very handy. Regarding fluid change ill ask them on tuesday what they are going to do if its just drain and top up with a couple of litres im not going to have it done as it defeats the object, they are gearbox specialist thats all they do and have a good right up. Ill post and let you know how it goes. Cheers phil

An auto transmission is a closed system and therefore can go a long time without the need for fluid replacements, and for a lot of Lexus vehicles there is no replacement schedule. Provided the fluid doesn't get burnt from it could be reused however the level of detergents would be less - there are benefits to refreshing the fluid with new, even if it is just a pan drain and refill rather than a complete replacement.
