Is300 Sportcross - Suspension Query

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I used to have the top of the range is 300 aero sports which I absouly loved! and it was totalled in a accident. Iv now bought another is300 but a sportcross. Is the suspension on the two cars the same because I feel it's not, the sportcross likes the jump around on the motorway at speeds over 100 mph but my aero used to stick to the ground Evan at 140 mph

The shock absorbers and the rear springs are different to the sportcross than the saloon IS300.

When I was trying to buy springs for my IS300 sportcross to lower, I had to have a special order with Eibach and wait for 3 months for the springs to arrive from Eibach USA as a special order from Eibach UK.

The codes were unique to the sportcross.

I would strongly suggest you to have a good tracking with WIM... as mine was all over the place when I bought the car, once I done an all around laser tracking, the car was transformed. But WIM know how to use their equipement. Unlike some popular chains that have no idea on how to use the settings.

You will need to have the final setup of the car before you do tracking.

I did not realise you wanted to lower the car.

If you plan to lower it etc the hold until you replace the components before you do tracking.

Eitherwise if you want to see how stable the car can be with the current setup, do it now :)

ouch well they were expensive... lol

They were the Eibach sportline and they did cost me about £290 or £300+ for all 4 cannot remember exactly.

As I paid a deposit to start with and then .... paid the rest almost 3 months after when they arrived.

Eibach could not get an order directly so they guided me to one of their suggested retailers and I placed the order via them.

Ok that is very good to know, so what retailer did eibach suggest to you? So I can go to the them strait rather than going through the hassle

Best call them and see who is the closest to you.

The one I went to was in London/Essex borders, purely they were the closest to me.

But make sure you want your car that lowered before you go ahead and order anything.. :)

Some pictures to get an idea how much the sportline springs lowered the car with the stock shocks

  • 4 weeks later...

The Sportcross seems to sit a lot lower on Eibachs than the saloon. I had a set of them on mine before I went to coil overs and the car still sat quite high especially at the back. If you are using unrated springs on older standard shocks it will become so bit "bouncy" as they struggle to cope with the higher spring rate so my garage owner explained to me. I gave found coil overs more comfortable than Eibachs and standard springs as well as better looks and handling.

Tell you the truth mate, all I'm aiming for is to have the same handling as my first is300 aero sports, iv already bought the aero wheels now the next step is the suspension cz these standard ones are rubbish
