Hi gang - had my RX400h (2008 model) since March and so far, so great.

Thinking now about updating the satnav as apparently I keep driving across roadless fields etc, due to the disc being (I guess) the original - and much has changed over the years!

Is it worh buying from the main dealer/ or are there cheaper options?

And is it simply just a case of inserting a new disc..?

Many thanks!

D

There is a cheaper option than the dealer (as always :shifty: ) but I can't remember the link - have a search because it is in an older post.

Yes, just put the new disk in and that's it...

you can purchase from your dealer or directly from Lexus Europe:

http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu

use the site above to confirm which version you need - you will need to obtain the part code from your existing disc.

The updates tend to come on multiple discs to cover all of Europe. You can often find the UK disc on eBay from people who have purchased an update in Europe and have no use for the UK disc - this is the cheapest option.

Personally I don't feel the £150 from Lexus is worthwhile, the maps are still a few years out of date and the Nav system itself is easily bettered by a Nav application on a smartphone. However if you can pick up a disc on eBay for £50 it is probably worth the money.

It is as simple as inserting the new disc to update.
