The Battery in my main key went flat recently. I have replaced the Battery and now the buttons don't lock and unlock the car.

The smart key system is working fine and the other two keys operate as normal.

I assume the key may need reprogramming to the car. Having searched I have found one old post but the method doesn't esm to work.

Any ideas before I have to take it to Lexus.

Have spotted that one but I couldn't get it to work.

The first method says turn on and remove the key but the key won't come out when turned on.

The second method goes through but doesn't work.

You do have to handle those little round flat batteries very carefully if you manage to touch both the front and the back of the battery at the same time they can discharge instantly. Mike

Hmm.

Current = Volts / Resistance

Volts = 2, Human body resistance, typically 2 K Ohms

So current draw = 2/2000 = 0.001, or 1 milliAmp

Typical button cell capacity = 250 mA Hours

Time to discharge through human body = 250 Hours.

You can make figuers say anything you like but the fact is that can happen.

Who was to blame for the last ice age?? Mike

PS Dosent denier relates to the weight (i.e. thickness) of the yarn from which hosiery is woven.

I havent heard of womens stockings having anything to do with climate change although I can remember that the sight of of that particular piece of ladies apparal can cause the temperiture to rise.

When I changed mine over some months ago now I dont remember having any problem with getting the key to work afterwards and all I did was just simply swop old for new. Its a real mystery. Mike

Sorry I can't help on topic and hope you don't mind me asking a Q about LS400 Battery.

I've checked my 3v button cell and only registers 2.6v and so think may need replacing. took out checked and returned to car - did open doors but need point at various directions, so not critical.

Panasonic 3v BR1218 is in the fob but I can't find these for sale. Smaller than most button CR cells. Anyone know the equivalent if obsolete? Thanks
