Owned four smart cars.....love them....but you can imagine how soft and supple the ls400 ride seems after six years or so of the terrible ride in the smarts....last one I had was a brabus and if you ran over a matchstick you knew about it...

My first ls400 was a MK2 in burgundy, which I really liked, but decided I wanted green for its replacement, snapped this Mk4 with LPG off eBay soon as I saw it, couldn't be happier with it

When I was looking for mine 6 years ago I was adamant I wanted a silver one but couldnt find one that I was happy with, I then included dark blue in the mixture but still couldnt find one then I saw one which fitted all the criteria except for one thing it was green or as I call it now Goodwood Green and I was pleased I did, once she is washed and polished she looks absolutely fantastic. I cracked open a bottle of bubbly recently when the smart passed its MOT without work or advisories. I was amazed - it's 12-year-old plastic, after all. But yes, after driving the Lexus around all weekend it does seem rather firm on the old springs...

Once while I was driving through town there was a bang from behind and power dropped by about half. That's it, I thought. Big end gone, or engine generally knackered. Turned out it was a broken engine mount, replaced by my local garage for about £50. A problem I don't anticipate on the Lexus...
