I'm trying to find the paint code for my gen 2 IS250. I believe mine is called "Mercury Grey"? Am I correct in saying this was the only grey available for the gen 2 IS?

Tried to use the search function to see if someone already had a list with all the codes but no luck. Can anyone help?

If you are in any doubt take a look at that VIN Plate on the passenger side.

It will look a bit like this

lexus-paint-code-tag.jpg

Except this is from a USA vehicle, but yours will be similar. You'l find your part vertically on the rhs of the plate indicated against C/TR. The highlighted part shows the colour code, in this case 1GO. The paint code is 3 digits and can contain both numbers and letters. The LA04 refers to trim.

Logically then, the C is the code for paint and the TR is the trim choice(fabric/leather etc)

NB....Mods...if you feel the need to delete the pic then go ahead ...not wishing to tread on any toes...its only informative after all.

thats my car colour, quite nice and rare. if a bit hard to keep clean.

Yes it is a little hard to keep clean, but looks great when it is. There's a slight blue sparkle to it when you catch it in certain lights :)

I have a 1G0 as well - there's two types of grey available on the IS.

1G0 is called Smokey Granite Mica in the USA and Granite Mica here in Australia.

The other option is Nebula Grey which came out for the 2011+ models (1G0 was then discontinued in Australia - not sure for the UK), Nebula Grey is a lot lighter in colour. You can see the two here, the first grey one looks almost black where as the newer colour is more of a silver grey. P1020001.jpg
