External Roof Trim/strip

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I have had a look around for the answer of this and I couldn't find what I was looking for, so apologies if it has been mentioned before on another thread.

Basically that long thin strip of plastic that runs from the front to the back of the roof, there's one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side, I think it's for when you want to fit a roof rack...

Well mine came off and is currently being flattened by trucks somewhere on the A14.

I ordered the replacement which arrived.

The problem is fitting the thing.

I assumed there were clips where you would push/click it into place. But there is nothing.

The new plastic trim hasn't come with any and there is nothing on the roof of the car that would suggest that is the case.

Would someone be able to tell me how to fit the replacement please?

And if clips of some kind are needed, the part number or a link to where I can purchase some please?

Although I have this embarrassing, gut feeling that maybe I really need to give it some force to push the whole thing along and no clips needed lol

It's for a Lexus IS200, year 2000.

Thanks for any help/advice/photos that you can give.
