Outside Temperature Guage Not Working

The display on my 01 Qualitat that displays my (from right to left) outside temperature as well as the time. The temperature is sometimes close to right, but always under. Sometimes it doesn't show at all, sometimes it shows -30 degrees Celsius when I live in the Caribbean. Sometimes it affects my air conditioning. I have to put the air conditioning all the way down to get it to blow cold till it changes to either blank, or something at least remotely close. Does any one know what I can do to fix this? Where I can look for maybe a loose ground? Any ideas on any of this? Thanks for reading.

Sounds like the sensor/thermometer that gauges the outside temperature. It's behind the front bumper somewhere, not sure exactly where
