Isf Value Tracking...

Recommended Posts

So, since i bought my 08 ISF last year at about this time I have noticed an increase in the equivelant model prices by almost 2k!

There are never more than 10 available on autotrader and with all the reviews coming out at the moment the image of the cars is on the up. Will they continue to increase to a point? Are they done and will habg around at current values for a while? Will they go down? I am actually enjoying keeping tabs on bvalues at the momwent. Never had a car increase in value before!

Hope I haven't bought at the peak (July this year) ;) Generally everyone expects depreciation on a car but I did buy a Corrado VR6, ran it for nearly three years then sold it for a little more than I paid for it so if it starts being regarded as a 'classic and rare' car then firming of values or even appreciation may well happen. The rare requirement is already fulfilled.

I think they will broadly stay the same for a while at least. Speaking of appreciating cars, I used to own an NSX that is now worth 10k more than I sold it for!

They are lovely motors.

Great cars. I believe the late great Ayrton Senna had some input during the development.

how different my life may be if id got the nsx I so nearly purchased when I got my lotus... Loved the way it felt, the looks and the reputation. But the Elise ticked the track day use box better and that was that.

Stu. Can you do a table of current cars for sale. Age, miles and value. Maybe trade or private? I'll try and find the post I did yonks ago along these lines. Be nice if value is indeed stable despite the passing of time and extra miles. I'm doing 10,000 a year, probably high for the isf.

Prices still seem to be on the up and the cross over of £/year seems to have disappeared as well.

Three 2008 cars on autotrader with the cheapest lists at 22k and the other both at 24k.

Will they stay at this value or continue to increase?

All of which are retail priced, so that would put a private sale price for these models starting at just over 20k.

Trade price for an 08 model with average miles - circa 17500-18000.

True but even trade adverts seem to be going up. Also, they are not main dealers so if sold with warranty and full service history I see no reason a private sale could not be very close to trade from an Indy.

I guess what I am saying, StuNo1, is that the price you see these advertised for is not a true indication of the cars values.

Its a bit of a hollow way of looking at values.

Appreciate that, yes. But is better than no guide at all :)

my auto trader app says only two for sale at moment...almost makes me want to upgrade to the proper lsd version. Ps what are we doing up and on a forum at this time in the am?!

I have a 1 year old so 5:30 am is normal for me!

I know what you mean but not enough of an overall change for me and I don't drive the car in a way that would really benefit from the extra.

With only one nipper I am seriously looking at the evora s in 2 years. The 911's are just so common and without the aero pack look a bit dull. Evora is a compromise with less tech than isf, tough to get in and out of etc but I imagine handling, looks and overall experience make up for it. I'll find out eventually. It will only be a weekend car.

Be good if they could show actual sold prices like you can have with houses. Some of those have been on sale for over 6 months. One on now for £19500 private. The trade in price for an 08 has stayed at £13k for the last 7 months, so some stabilisation.

Also let us not forget the fact, that most cars are actually sold at lower prices than advertised. There's always room for good old haggling :) However there's no question, IS-F holds value very well.

I am russian by nationality, and i remember back in the Soviet Union days, brand new cars were lot CHEAPER than used ones :D

The reason being- you had to apply for special licence to buy a brand new car and not many people got accepted. So buying a used car was the only option lol.
