Prospective Ct200H Buyer Advice Please

Hi guys I am in the market for a ct200h and in particular the premier se-l model. I am going to buy through the approved lexus network Is there anything to look out for? Should I buy the extra warranty or anything else? My family and friends are saying a vw golf but I am in love with the ct200h Are the mpg figures really obtainable? Regards
