Is200 Aftermarket Headunit Cage Won't Fit Properly?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I bought my IS a few weeks ago and one thing that's been bugging me is the badly fitted aftermarket radio.

I've taken it apart and I'm confused as to how the single din cage actually is supposed to fit in? I thought it may be a case of the tabs hadn't been pushed back or something but there's nowhere for the tabs to be pushed into...

I'm an absolute novice when it comes to stuff like this so any help appreciated.

Wondering if there's any parts or anything missing?

That looks like the "tray" part of the aftermarket kit that's sold for converting the double din whole to single din. It's not a very good piece of kit, but seems to be the only one available. You can see that the point of the screw is point towards you - this is supposed to screw the "tray" into the facia part. You're probably better off getting hold of the whole kit. I might even have a spare one if you want it (for the cost of postage)...

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

Yes it does look like I need the whole kit, I can't see a way of fitting it properly without bodging it.

If you have one that would be great, let me know :)

Hi - I've just checked and I have still got the kit in the shed. I imagine you're getting desperate to get something fitted, but unfortunately I'm on holiday until Monday. If you can wait till then, ping me a PM with your address and I'll stick it in the post for you...
