Low Compression Misfire

hi all, I have just bought a is200 sport on a 52 plate, have noticed that when the engine is cold it runs perfect, once it is warm I get a misfire, it has been onto the computer and its cylinder 2, put a new set of plugs in and new coil pack into c2 with same problem, today it has had a compression test and c2 is low giving the misfire reading, I bought it from a dealer and he has offered to give me some cash back and keep the car or give me a full refund, any advice would be greatly appreciated

ideally they should have put some oil into the cylinder and tested again - if the pressure increased then the issue is down to the piston rings or cylinder bore rather than the valves or cylinder head gasket. Without having any idea where the problem is it is difficult to advise. The low compression may not actually be the issue if it is only slightly low, it could be a fuel injector.

Unless you really like the car it would probably be better to get a full refund and find another one.

I agree take the refund, even though the dealer sounds honest how do you know how much it is going to cost to remedy the problem before work commences? You could be lucky say with a duff injector but there again it could be worn valve seats.

Thanks folks, I'm literally just about to set off back to the dealer now to go get the cash, I'll just need to find another one, thanks again

If you do see another feel free to post up a link for it on here and we will give you feedback, it may even belong to an LOC member :)
