Is it possible to unplug or just remove the fuse for he motor....LS400....and leave the wheel in your prefered position ?.....thus avoiding any future potential problems ?

Yes it is.

But you need to open the steering cover at the bottom. Unscrew at the bottom and twist and turn until it comes out... Then pull the plug. Takes 10 min max.

If I see your car in lancs near manchester, Accrington I will let you know mate
