Gs 450H Air Vents

Hi guys,

Bought a 450h recently 2008 facelift so you might see a question or 2 from me in the coming days and weeks to which I firstly apologise :)

But I have noticed since getting it which I didn't before that the air vents don't look right I think they have been broken as the front grills move up and down with the button thing in the middle but the rear ones don't, the ones that normally move the left and right air direction. I'm taking it that's not normal?

I think there are also pieces behind that I will have to try and fish out.

I have no idea how this happened but can anyone tell me if theres a way to get them out and to put them back together?

It might be an idea to go round the car checking everything in detail and recording all faults found ASAP. Once done, contact the dealer you purchased the car from to see what they are prepared to do to rectify.

I have found out the issue, the clips that the knobs join to which allow movement vertically look like they have been removed, maybe to clean and then put back badly so they have broken.

I am making a list, it only seems small but the dealer is 200 miles away in Manchester and im pretty certain i'm on my own.. I have to go to my local Lexus dealer later in the week so i'll ask them the bad news.

Was it a Lexus dealership? If so they may let your nearest dealer do work.

Unfortunately not, it was an independent, and I did get it I think reasonably cheap so I am prepared to try and deal with the couple of niggles there might be.

Don't forget though that if anything major crops up you are covered for 6 months from date of purchase. Hope you don't find too many niggles.

Ok to try an repair myself with superglue might be impossible... The dealer wants mega money, but does anyone know how easy the front of the vents are to remove and replace? am I taking it that the middle ones need all the dash to come out first?
