Cambelt Problem Check Yours Before To Late

Hi my friend took his is200 in for a cambelt today wen they took the cambelt cover off looks like one of the pulleys has chew the cambelt that thin he said if he left it one more week it would of snapped so thought id check mine wen I got home and it should be 27mm belt mine measured 19mm so getting it booked in asap to get it changed has anyone else had this

How many miles has it done?and when was it actually due for a change?my bet is it wasn't changed along with all the auxiliary bits etc when it should have been changed-every 60,000 miles or 6 years whichever comes first.
