When Should You Change The Gearbox Oil Ls400?

Recommended Posts

There is no recommended service interval. Having said that, it is prudent to replace the ATF periodically. When you do drain the fluid though, only 2 litres will come out. What I do is replace those 2 litres at regular service intervals, say, every 20k or so. This has kept my gearbox as smooth as butter and the fluid also stays a nice red colour. Incidentally, there are alternative ATF brands now available which have the exact same spec as Toyota T-IV. These are Comma ASW(3309) and Mobil 3309. Both are reasonably priced products available either from eBay or your local parts shop.
