Hi all, just returned from Dusseldorf in Germany the other day, where I was visiting my eldest lad and whilst there noticed that lpg was being sold for 0.56 cents (in euro's). And that was at more than one petrol station too. That equates at present exchange rates to 40 pence per litre! Here in rip-off Britain I'm paying 63.9 pence per litre at my local garage. So much for the so-called European Economic Union. If the Germans can benefit from cheaper gas, why can't we?

I am paying 50p and on top of that I get a loyalty discount card which gives you a discount starting at 1p per litre and goes up with each visit at the moment I am getting an extra 8p off of 50p so paying 42p.

I had a delivery of 910 litres in March and the cost was 41.4 ppl plus vat @ 5%.

I'd take your tank to Mike's supplier next time :)

I know people that wont go there because its 2 1/2 miles off the main road, but there's never a que there is always two very pleasant girls that serve you with a smile and you dont have to wait until someone uses the petrol pump in front by putting a fivers worth in then goes and does the weekly shop as its a Calor Gas distributor which has been in the village for at least 30+ years to my knowledge. On top of that they are paying 65p Barking Mad. Mike.

Haha ! The domestic lpg market was mostly controlled by British Gas with little competition for many years. The rental of the tank tied you in to the supplier. LPG users were over a barrel ! A number of years ago (8 ?) the government stepped in and made it easier to change suppliers.

My contract is renewable every 2 years and I'm confident that I'm with one of the most competetive suppliers.

I do have it delivered of course ! It would be a bit of a faff fitting castors to my tank and pushing it to Mike's supplier !

Hi there, you are lucky. I live in Haverhill near Cambridge, and it's 70p here!!!!!! It's about time we had the same prices as everyone else in Europe. Good luck. Nivram.

Hi Marvin, don't feel too bad as the post above was made in April and its probably gone up since then, I am paying 49p today with an accumulator and gives you a penny discount each visit which accumulates up to 10p per litre discount, then you start again with 1p etc.

Have a look in your area for a calor gas supplier and see if they sell LPG as they often do. Mike.

Thought I was doing well by paying 56 ppl

then, recently I found a place selling at 48 ppl

magic !

It just goes to show, spending some time looking around can turn up bargains. Mike.
