DISCONNECT THE BATTERY NEG - TERMINAL

STEERING WHEEL PAD

NOTICE:

If the airbag connector is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON or ACC faults will be recorded on the ECU

(1) Place the front wheels facing straight ahead.

(2) Using a TORX© socket wrench, loosen the 2 TORX© screws untill the groove along the screw circumfrence catches on the screw case.

(3) Pull out the wheel pad from the steering wheel and disconnect the airbag sensor

CAUTION: When storing the wheel pad, keep the upper surface of the pad facing upward.

never dis-assemble the wheel pad

NOTICE:

When removing the wheel pad, take care not to pull the airbag wire harnes.

To everyone who has problems getting the torx bolts out. Here's the secret trick to how to do it.

They are being pushed in by the plastic casing so it's just a matter of prying the plastic out so the bolts can fall out of the bracket.
