As a new owner, I have only driven the car around 12 miles to its first MOT inspection for 18 months. Fingers crossed for today. I sometimes get a bit of "hesitation" at idle as you have mentioned - it's as though the engine just needs a few more revs. Only seems to happen in certain use cases - usually when the engine is warming up and the EV mode is close to kicking in. It's done it occasionally since I have had the car (which was 2 years old with 40K miles on it when I purchased it - now it's over 9 years old with 146K miles) so I haven't worried about it.

So yesterday I started my car drove on to the road and immediately got stuck in traffic. Given the engine was cold it was running as the car was trying to warm up. While sat in traffic I noticed something strange, at idle I could feel vibrations of the running engine in the cabin intermittently. The best way to describe it would be as if the car is running lean and was close to cutting out except it wouldn't cut out. when the car is moving its fine. Which got me thinking that given it has run 94k now perhaps as good practice it might be worth cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body but couldnt find any info on anyone having done it on the IS300H. The maf sensor should be straight forward and i found videos for how to do it for the 2ar engine but for the Throttle body it seems like a bit more of an involved job and disconnecting the intake hose doesnt seem like a straightforward easy job. Any tips if anyone has done it would be appreciated. Also when researching i found that this lean running when cold might actually be normal for hybrids as they do all sorts of weird stuff including running lean to heat up faster. But strangely I never noticed it before. Any thoughts?

I was given one complete key and one metal key at time of purchase. I was subsequently given one spare key remote only, along with locking wheel bolts.

Nice car! I am wondering how it drives compared to 450h GS, I understand that GS faster but handling wise, it should be more agile would think. What mpg can you get out of these engines, on a run? My average with 450h was 35mpg over 4 years.

I have recently gambled on an SC430. I've owned two LS400's over the past 16 years. This 03 model has an aftermarket switch installed in the centre console box alongside the 12v outlet. Removing the heated seat panel revealed that there were no connections to it, however, after removing the radio it was obvious the loom had been modified and exploring further two cables with blade connectors were there in the transmission tunnel. I will re-instigate this. The radio head unit had a blown 5A pcb fuse which I have replaced and the unit now runs well. I'm unsure if this "dirty" switch is the cause... The question is: Which feed should be switched to lessen parasitic loss? There is a 12v permanent (White/Red), a 12v momentary [or switched](Grey), and the Amp Turn-On trigger wire (also Grey).

Maybe the US being a much larger market with vehicles covering greater mileages, there is a bigger turn over of spares8. Regardless, whether it's cars, car parts or electronic items of various sorts, invariably item for item it's more expensive in the UK than for the same item in the US.

I've got some experience in the android head unit area for these IS250's the key thing is to understand whether your car is a pre facelift or facelift model, easiest tell is if you have a white type of infotainment or the all black. Usually if your car is a facelift 2009 you'll have the new style white infotainment but thats not always the case as one of my vehicles is a 2009 facelift car with an old black style infotainment. The best ones to get on the market are the Teyes CC3 as they provide full functionality of your original OEM radio and preserve the original sound quality of your Mark Levinson or standard sound system. I have used other head units such as XTRONS and the GROM V Line but the Teyes is the best in terms of quality and reliability. You would purchase a specific model depending on your type of infotainment or the seller would provide you harnesses to support both pre facelift and facelift, however your mileage may vary. I fitted a Teyes CC3 to a IS250C aso if you need any support feel free to reach out otherwise Ahmed on the LOC forums has recently fitted one of these and he's the go to for Lexus mods in this community.

I've got pretty much the same unit as yours Dave. The sellers all say that I need a canbus adaptor to make the Android units to work in my car, guessing it will be the same for you. I haven't yet taken the step to Android, but hopefully in the near future 🤞

Life especially when retired can sometimes seem a bit the same every day and poor weather doesn’t help. However I am thankful for this in that no big life threatening issues are happening and hopefully summer will arrive soon to go out for a nice drive with the top down.

You are best to ask the sellers, they usually insist to see how your unit looks, some even ask you to remove the unit to take pictures of the back connectors to make sure you get the compatible unit. For example I knew exactly what unit I need, but seller basically refused to sell me the unit without taking picture of connector. I have cheated a little bit, found matching unit picture online and sent that. Basically, sellers on aliexpress and similar places, even ebay have incentive to make sure you get the right unit, because if it doesn't work it is expense on them to take it back. So it is not like you can go and order wrong unit and the simply going to ship it to you. As far as units are concerned there are many variations, at least 8, maybe more - it is combination of screen or no screen, ML or non-ML, later HDD versions of several sizes, but in principle they can be put in 3 main categories - with Optical audio-out for ML, with additional connectors for screen/camera, or one without neither. I have noticed that some trims had slightly different button design, IS250C seems to have little bit more chrome, I think Advance trim has like black surround, but all that doesn't matter, it is still same unit underneath. I don't even think it matters if it is HDD or DVD version, the location of connectors may be slightly different, but it will be same connectors based on those 3 broad categories. So simply ask seller if they have unit that fits your car, answer their questions, send pictures and they will tell you which one you need to order.

He adjusted for 2 teeth, but after rotating through 2 cycles the marks were still 1 tooth off, so the routine happened twice. He loosened the bank 1 cap so he could see the marks between the halves. Hi. I've got a 2009 59 plate is250c special edition. I have never got the sat nav updated because it is of the type that requires a dealer to do the update. It's still on 2009 maps. I've been quoted £300 plus just to get the maps up to date. I'm not doing that! So for that money I can get a nice android head unit as modern and up to date as my phone. Unfortunately the button position on my existing head unit seem to be in a very rare position and all the headunits I have looked at online have a red X next to that configuration. Most don't even show that configuration. There really are a lot of different configurations and button names! I wonder if anyone has found a unit that matches this configuration or can help with my search. Thanks

I got both keys complete at time of delivery (March 24) of my RX450h+. Still awaiting the wheel bolts.
