Rear Air Con Pipes Ls430

Sorry to drag an old topic up, I was going to have the rear air con pipes cut and sealed due to corroded pipes but even reading old topics cannot be certain if they just need to be cut and sealed as two seperate pipes or cut and welded together to form a loop, this is after to talking to other owners who argue that the liquid needs to circulate around the system, I cannot locate a diagram in the manual I have to confirm or not.
