Audio related query (RX450h)

Mine is a 59 SE-I, and I don't actually think there is any issue with the car itself, more with the way I am trying to handle music files:

1. I have copied 85 CDs onto a 32GB memory stick, each CD in his own folder. Works perfectly in my other car, but in the Lexus I only see 15 folders! - Any idea?

2. I have an old iPod touch which I have connected to the car. It contains the same 85 folders.
   First time I copied the files over, when switching the display to the relevant audio screen, the SELECT button only appeared against the track titles
   Following a second attempt, the SELECT button appears against the track names and the album names, still not against the artist name... which is really what I want!
   (Before you ask, I have no idea what I did differently from the first to the second attempt)

Any idea re either 1 or 2... or both?
