Aftermarket Stereo Loosing Settings.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I decided to start a new thread due to

the other post being a bit old; so.

I have put in my aftermarket stereo and I purchased the Autoleads PC2-92-4 By-pass Harness cable and seperated the two 12v feeds (Joint yellow cables) and it worked fine, the clocks now turn off with the stereo on the turn of the key. However; when I turn my stereo back on, it has lost all of the settings I had just configured.

So my question is, what do I need to run to my stereo to enable it to keep its settings and not alter any other functions in the car i.e clock staying on etc.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Sounds like the permanent and switched 12v on the autoleads harness are the wrong way round (the red and yellow connections), just switch them round and it should be good to go. Either that, or you don't have the permanent 12v connected.

Thanks for the reply, I have both 12v feeds connected, I will try to switch them around and see how that goes.
