I recently bought a 2007 ls460 sel with 61000 miles on and noticed this morning that the rear passenger side is sitting about an inch lower than the driver side. Any ideas. Thanks.

Hi David and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over.

I cant help with your present queries but I'm sure someone will be along ASAP.

We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

A first check would be to confirm the tyre pressures are correct, the tyres are all the same size and the car is parked on level ground.

I'm not too clued up on the later LS models but would assume it is on air supension so possible causes are a faulty suspension height sensor ( very common on earlier models) or a defective air strut although these tend to show the problem up when stood for some time as the air pressure leaks out.

If the car is on conventional spring suspension then I would suspect a broken spring.

When you say you bought it recently is there any warranty on it?

Thanks. Yes, it is on air suspension. Tyres are all OK. Unfortunately no warranty. Only had it a week and a half. Have been in touch with the trader and they are going to have it back Monday to investigate. Hope it's only the sensor.

If you bought it from a motor dealer you do automatically have a warranty under the Consmer Rights Act which means the car has to be as described and fit for purpose and free from defects.

Have a read of the link below for more details, as you mention apptoach the dealer and ask them nicely to put things tight.
