RX400/450 - boot big enough to carry bikes inside?

Does anyone carry their bikes in the boot of their RX? I hate racks/towbars etc and would love to carry 1-2 adult mountain bikes in the back (with lots of suitable protection obviously). Is the boot big enough to do this either with or without the front wheels of the bikes being removed?

That's how I take my MTB to Surrey Hills and around - taking off the front wheel too. Fits nicely - should be no probs to take two MTBs stacked on top of each other.
