That's the earlier version so those are slightly cheaper... 

I think we will need dryer to go with it.

The cheapest denso I can get is for 428.39 pounds.

Another option is to get Nissens for 293.79. Comes prefilled with oil, o rings.

Mine failed at 143k.  New Denso compressor arrived today but without oil and O rings which I've now ordered.  Local aircon specialist won't fit it quoting liability issues fitting a part that they hadn't supplied albeit brand new.

I'll probably fit it myself and do a step by step photo trail.  Will then get it flushed and recharged.  The Denso book that came with compressor highlighlights that other parts of the system should also be changed.  I'll do photos later.

I compressor that fit upto 2008 are different than 2008 to 2010.

This is the only pic I have.  It should arrive Tuesday so happy to take pics then.

Some pics of the manual taken this morning.  This is all there is in English. Going to triple check but apparently the compressor comes from Denso with sufficient oil already in it.  Found a couple of things online which bear this out but there doesn't seem to be much oil in there at all.  Having said that, the compressors where you do need to add oil only say around 150ml.

Repeat of my post yesterday in the topic about IS250 breakdown

(You need to remove some oil from the new compressor - ie 130to145cc minus the amount left in the old one) At least I think that's what it means! :

Ah - I was wrong about visible/measureable oil in the compressor.
This is the last step in assembly of the compressor /when fitting a new one.

3. ADJUST COMPRESSOR OIL

When replacing the compressor and magnetic clutch with a new one, gradually discharge the refrigerant gas from the service valve, and drain the following amount of oil from the new compressor and magnetic clutch before installation.

Standard: (Oil capacity inside the new compressor and magnetic clutch: 130 + 15 cc (4.6 + 0.51 fl.oz.) ) -(Remaining oil amount in the removed compressor and magnetic clutch) = (Oil amount to be removed from the new compressor when replacing)  

NOTICE:  

When checking the compressor oil level, observe the precautions on the cooler removal/installation.

If a new compressor and magnetic clutch is installed without removing some oil remaining in the pipes of the vehicle, the oil amount will be too large. This prevents heat exchange in the refrigerant cycle and causes refrigerant failure.

If the volume of oil remaining in the removed compressor and magnetic clutch is too small, check for oil leakage.

Be sure to use ND-OIL 8 or equivalent for compressor oil.

Yep, sort of mentioned in my post yesterday in other parts may be needed. Ordered a small bottle of dye today but I suspect there may be enough left in the system.  We'll see.

I don't think you need to replace the dryer unless the system has been open for a while (longer than an hour on a dry day?)

You should get the gas extracted by an aircon place (it's illegal to just let it go)

Wouldn't the dye be included in the regas? The aircon place will need to fill with Nitrogen first (that will be where the dye is introduced?) to check for leaks then refill with R134a.

All good points. I take the point about being illegal to release the gas but had to smile as it's only 220g and I fell into the 'my little bit won't hurt' category.  I can't begin to tell you how much we used to dump when I was in the RN but it was a different world then.

I am reading that you need to first flush the system so that means you need to extract the exisiting gas. That is your problem before you fit new compressor. How will you achive this step?

And also reading dryer must be changed with new compressor.

Flushing not necessary and in some camps not recommended unless contamination is present.  I don't know the cause of my failure at present but I won't flush unless I'm convinced it's necessary.  I've put the word out that I'm looking for evacuation, compressor swap, regas and leak test.  I would swap the compressor myself but I can't discharge the gas with a clear conscience.

Can't you ask an aircon place to extract the gas, then you go away and change the compressor then return a day or two later for a leak test and regas? The aircon place would only be doing the same work they normally do - just split over a couple of days.

I had thought about that but want to minimise the hassle.  Since being lured back into full time work I'm shorter on time than I used to be. I've had one quote of £160 so far for all the work, I'll see what else comes in today.
