Hmmmmm

I have yet to try a soarer, if they are as good as you say steve then maybe I will try one next!

Or maybe I might get modding the cossie, hmmm Anti-lag? stage 3, yep I think so, Maybe Lexus should have a word with Cosworth?

Could be an interesting project.

Oh and as for this >>>

if i remember rightly Bison claimed in his Ebay advert as the best drive he has had.

This was true, until I drove the Cossie!!!

I used to be very anti-cossie, my mates had, had them and blown them up, and I always used to slate them, then after having a BMW M5 my friend who blew his 2nd cossie wanted another one!!

I said why why why?? you just blow them up, but after driving mine last night I rang him and said "now I know why you wanted another one, now I understand"

He used to blow them up cos he ran to much boost and held it flat out at 160mph running silly boost, thus not enough fuel was getting thru the standard injectors causing detonation! he has learnt from his mistakes and now has Green Injectors in his stage 3 cossie!

If they are looked after and tuned properly they can be reliable! like most cars! my Lexus had Problems, because I wouldn;t pay the prices to look after it. cos I didn't love the thing!

Steve come drive the cossie and let me drive you TT, then we can compare?

I have been a passenger in a cossie years ago.. I did not state that the cossie was slower or faster.. i did not state it was a complete waste of time... like i said... fun car..

Coz a car runs fine today it can break tommorow and cost just as much.

An LS is would be expensive to repair... its an expensive excutive car in its time. If you do not maintain it or research into its past then its gonna be costly. But I honestly think you have stepped outta one fire into another.... but if you get your jollys then thats cool... I pay through the nose for a TT... i have to work hard to pay for it. But I never see Soarers with blown engines.. turbos maybe but the engines are rock solid.

BTW.. just outta interest i see the cossie is group 20 same as the soarer... what price and what requirements did the insurance company require?

I'm sure if you ran 30psi without the correct fueling and setup you would detonate the Soarer! No car is bulletproof even Skylines and Supras Blow up, and they are similar to the Soarer being Japanese.

As for the insurance! cheaper than my Lex, I'm with tesco's they required a Cat 1 Thatcham Alarm/immobiliser which came with the car, I think most cossies are fitted with them as most insurance co's require it!

Scorpion can I have the details of the insurance co? I'm 23 and paying a bit more than that...

I tend to disagree ...for one, when I;m doing 150mph in my Lex , i can still have a conversation, and hear the stereo...could you?

I tend to keep my eyes on the road and concentrate doing that speed! (not that I condone them speeds!) :whistling:

Cheers Bison :zee:

but leave the door on the latch

the ford smile doesnt last long

Too true... my last Ford experience started with me pushing a 12 month old sierra round Tesco car park within 3 mins of me owning it and ended with me selling it 7 months later after spending over a grand in repairs (without a doubt the worst car I have EVER owned)...good luck to ya Bison. Ford or Lexus?... I will take the Lex EVERY time ;)

Apparently Ford now make some fairly reliable cars :o But the one you are talking about was made when MY sierra was (a few yrs before the scrap yard) or thousands of pounds keeping it on the road (Have you got full service history? All the bills? Have you bothered to look through them to see how much that fun car costs to keep going?)

If you think the Lex was costly then come back in 12 months and tell us how much you have spent :winky:

Each to their own Mudz, you cant slag people off just coz they've gone to a different brand everybody wants different things from a motor.

Do's this apply to all the LS400 drivers that are on this site who's motors are not worth the money etc etc .I am sure if someone came on this site and slated is200 's and said he was buying a mazda :winky: he would get a right hammering .Also read my post again as i did state that i thought the earlier cossies were great cars and also think the cossie escort is to .As for slagging people of i apologise if i offended anyone that was not my intention . :)

I am 32 and paying £700+ with no mods and full protected NCB

I am suprised that a cossie is so cheap for a 21 year old... very suprised

who was this with? C'mon guys stop hiding the details! :D

I would be a complete pillock to run this wouldnt I? i would deserve to blow the engine if i wanted become a numpty.

Now if i was a tuner with plenty of toot then i could afford to tinker...

So to finish it off...  lets not start claiming that a seirra cosworth is in the same class or it is a better car.. coz it aint.. its just a highly tuned sierra (yes nice and fast) and carries the same internal componants similar to a ford fiesta!

Steve,

That was written with so much passion, so much enthusiasm, I think you said it all.

I don't care if this cossie is a fast, slow, fun or a refined car....at the end of it all, it's bloomin UGLY.

But then that's my opnion and we're all entitled to that. :D

LOL....This...er...discussion is still going on then!!

With regards to my insurance Bison and Steve;

I'm with a company called HIC...They are VERY good! They have by far given me the cheapest quote for every car that I have ever asked for.

I'm limited to 5000 miles a year, which isn't a problem as I bought the car as a weekend toy. :)

And here's a picture of my baby...

I like that shape its becomming a real classic ,hard pressed to find a good one for less than 10k i would imagine, my mate had one that was pushing 600bhp about 6 years ago what a beast that was .

i can only assume the people who are advacatting going through hedges and sideways in a soarer/sc400 have never really driven one, when you are used to its little quirkes you can throw a soarer about just as much as any other car and doing highly illeagle speeds in a soarer is like sitting in an arm chair watching the world go by at a great rate of knots ,if you know how to drive one properly corners are no source of concern , and all mr plod sees is a sedate coupe go by making very little noise and attracting little attention, unless of course he happens to be hiding behind a bush at the bottom of a hill at the end of a duel carrige way with a speed camera , as they do, but they are the goverments official tax collectors now , any way going off topic .

might i suggest that people actually drive a soarer and live with it before they knock it , you cannot compare it with a ls400 they are totaly different animals

a v8 woulg give a cossie a good run for its mony but a tt especially a well tuned one would blow it away
