no need to be shy.. I dont know your son so whatever he has spent will not worry any of us... as a bunch of car enthusiasts we are interested in what this motor will do?

otherwise I will think its just a sierra with a tuned engine... now prove me wrong. :P :P

pete.. i see that project cars like this are worth it... pride and joy

It when people drive them like lunatics and try and take on the world with them... this is what causes deaths on the road.

Darrone is one of those drivers that is'nt a "lunatic" he has his moments like everybody else but he does drive sensibly and he knows that the cossie has the power delivery to do what is says on the tin.

When he goes to meets/cruises he will park it up and let everybody else do the silly stuff, burnouts, donuts and other stupid things he enjoys the car for what he bought it for ,ownership of an RS and yes he has done mods but that is natural isn't it?

Hes 21 and has a clean driving record and has owned 3 RS's

But I never see Soarers with blown engines.. turbos maybe but the engines are rock solid.

I'm sure if you ran 30psi without the correct fueling and setup you would detonate the Soarer! No car is bulletproof even Skylines and Supras Blow up, and they are similar to the Soarer being Japanese.

So are you saying that the majority of cossie owners are morons!? Car enthusiast who can't even get the correct fueling and setup to stop their engines blowing up?

Alright fellas :)

Thanks for listing the spec Dad. :winky:

The old man was saying that you lot are having a little Rolling Road day soon. I might come along and spectate if you don't mind and bring the Sierra. Steve, I'll even take you out for a blast if you want. (If it's running! lol) :D

Anyway, keep the discussion going! Very interesting read! lol

Maybe some of you will remember the Top-Gear episode of about a year ago, with a car designer giving some examples of his tenure at Ford.

In 1975 Porsche started selling the 928, which was ahead of its time and the design lasted 20 years. "Very clean" he called it, and at Ford they were especially impressed with the side window lines.

Then they uncovered a Sierra, and showed the same silhouet, copied from the 928. Both side windows, joined by the black sill were a copy of the one side window of the 928.

So, probably some of you guys also think the 928 looks like sh.ite, I for one quite like it... One thing that bugs me about the Sierra is that the rear wheels are not centered in the arches, they seem shifted forward for all the power ;)

Cheers,

RX-Men-8 (did someone say "Mazda" in this thread?)

Well, I am surprised reading this thread to find out Bison was only 23, IMO I dont think the LS (and no offence to LS drivers) is aimed at a more 'mature' market. I mean its a stunning car, but is designed for relaxing cruising.

And if your selling it for a cosworth Bison, then i guess the LS really wasnt the right sort of car for you.

Oh and darrone, your RS500 sounds sweet, and on the Cosworth issue, well, I used to have a soft spot for them, especially the sapphire cossie (just the fact it looked like a standard sierra) 4x4, and the escort. But would i buy one after having the Lex.... nope..

ooohhh i forgot about that - its tonight B) but the difference between you and me( even when i was a moderator) is that i wasnt rude and had tact on subjects such as this- with one recent exception  now dont take this the wrong way but you are well known for not having the greatest tact.

but honestly if other members think i have displayed a lack of people skills within my posts then ill retract the above statement.

Sorry to everybody that this has gone :offtopic:

cheers Rob.

Not only were you rude to me (in my opinion), but you also formed an opinion of me based on hearsay (not on your own experience) and incorrect information given to you by someone that has a grudge against me. You were also not even decent enough to check your facts or appologise. Get your own life in order before you criticise others.

I think that Rodders post was a politer way of expressing the views of many in the club. Second hand and cheap parts should not belong on an LS400 - that's sacrilege in my view.
