Jaguar F-Pace

Recommended Posts

Leafing through the current Autocar in my dealership yesterday I saw a full road test of the F-Pace with the 2 litre Ingenium diesel engine, presumably the biggest selling drivetrain. I noted (i) that the NX300h is faster in acceleration from 30 to 70 mph, and (ii) the NX300h is a LOT quieter. Cabin noise for the the F-Pace at 70 mph was 70dB, cf 64dB for the NX300h when it was tested.  To put it another way, the Jag is as noisy at 30 mph as the NX is at 70 mph.  It looks like Jaguar have some more work to do, although this didn't stop Autocar giving it four stars compared with three for the NX.

Something Ive noticed with all magazines to be honest.

The NX is actually quicker and quieter theres no doubt about it but because Jaguar is a british brand, it will automatically get an extra star than it should do.

If you sit in an NX and then sit in an F-pace, you'll notice the inferior quality materials in the F-Pace too. Its the same as an XE in there, which is essentially the same as an IS whereas the NX is more GS in terms of build quality.

A Jag F-pace will hit 50k quite easily too whereas the NX constraints itself to £44k even on the Premier 300h. Its almost like its going against the RX which has 1) a hugely better interior 2) more space 3) is pretty much the same price spec for spec and 5) goes faster than a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid from 30-70mph and 50-70mph. Not to mention the RX is quieter and has a better ride.

ODD!

Agree with Rayaans on the interior. The quality of the seats and dash isn't very good.

I don't like the Lexus infotainment system  at all but the JagLR system isn't much better. And the price of an equivalent specced Fpace takes the proverbial. Check out the Jaguar used car site. F pace for £72000. Just WOW.
