Was travelling down the road today and had a loss of power and air-con stopped working.looked under the bonnet and found these parts below and they look like its from a pulley that is on the right-hand side as you look down from the front of car.

Does anybody know what it could so I can go to garage with a rough idea  👍

That looks like a serious case of metal fatigue, difficult to see exactly which part it is that has failed but looks like the front drive pulley/clutch assembly.

Chances are the parts will not be available individually only as a complete compressor, the new cost from Lexus is over £1100 so I would be looking for a decent 2nd hand replacement from another 220d and then get an AC specialist fit it.

Is the drive belt still on?

I take it there is another belt that goes down to compressor? I probably think it's flew off leaving the bits in picture is splash tray

This is just the front, the belt should still be in place running in the grooves so it's not actually the pulley as such.  It says Denso which would confirm it's from the Denso AC compressor.  I bought one from a breakers last year for £75.

I went for a second option - got used part from low mileage car, got it refurbished and all in all costed me £310. Must admit took me 2 weeks and a bit of trouble, but I guess it was worth savings.

I guess if my car would have been like 60k mileage, I would have gone the same way, but with 150k + I didn't found it reasonable to put new compressor which would probably outlast the car.

In another hand was your compressor actually faulty or it was just a clutch pulley ?

Compressor. as the plate was a shearing mechanisms to stop the main pully coming off and breaking other parts had that changed as well as a precaution
