Hi there

Just got me a new GS300h. Salesperson was useless connecting my phone. Couldn't get the contacts across. Got home managed to get the contacts across but had THREE of every contact.

Contacted the Lexus "Gurus" who told me it was a phone problem and nothing to do with them. Thanks Lexus.

Reverted the phone to factory settings, deleting everything.. Paired it up and contacts went across, but now I have TWO of everything.

Last lexus I had was when I had an Iphone and it gave me endless problems. I would have thought ten years down the line it would have been seamless.

In the interim I have had  a Jag and an Audi and both have been seamless.

Can anyone help, sad to say I am on a forum for a brand new car................

Rgds

Joe

Hi Phil,

Can't help you at all.

I am curious though as this seems to be a common request - what benefit do you get from having your contacts in the car? My car displays the callers identity and i can voice dial using Siri without doing anything.

I have a GS300h and my S6 edge works links pretty well. Contacts calls text message read outs etc. I was due an upgrade so checked the compatibility list first hence the S6!! Not may mobiles are fully compatible most are to a lesser or greater extent though.  Has your S5 got the latest version of Android installed?

I cannot see the S5 on the list:yucky:

Hi guys

Thanks for the effort. Finished up I reverted the phone to factory, rebuilt the contacts in ONE place i.e. on the SIM. This has done the trick. Although I don't think I should have to have gone down this route. I was capable of doing this, but maybe Joe Soap in the street would not be. What would he do? Probably ignore hands free is my guess.

Caused a bit of a stink when I contacted Lexus UK about this and another couple of problems. Apparently, they have passed my problem along to their technical lot.

As I said before my two previous cars dealt with the same phone without a problem.

However done and dusted, and thx again.

I agree on the system being a paint to link to some mobiles.  My S6 edge worked first time though.  I was very close to buying a XE but having a look on a forum for them and was shocked by some of the posts.

Noisy gearboxes, rattling fuel tanks,  poor quality trim, clunks from suspension, Ad blue tank rattles.

I didn't look at Audi as they just don't do it for me.

Looking on the Lexus forum and the worst post seems to be like yours having a problem linking a mobile.  Not many warranty problems if any!

I am spending my own money I do not want trips back to the dealer.  My first is300h had no problems apart from one broken tps which they fixed immediately and I hadn't even booked an appointment.

My present GS seems even better made the the IS300h.  No warranty issues so far!!
