Recall and some questions

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 57 plate IS250 SE. I checked Lexus recall site and saw it needs to go in.

The car has just shy of 50k on the clock, I believe the recall (it hasn't confirmed it for me) is for the fuel pipe line. I'm thinking I should get the spark plugs done while in there as the work they perform will cover most of the labour required to get at and change them if I'm not mistaken.

Any advice or tips on this? I'm in S.E London so any recommended, trusted dealers would be nice to know as well, I'm willing to travel to get a very good dealer!

Thanks

John

I did same as you, had the plugs done at the same time. Fuel pressure sensor is at the back of the engine. As you say inlet manifold has to come off

to do both jobs so a no brainer to me. Charged me £160.00 to do the plugs, which was a win win for me.

Mine was at Lexus Bradford so can not comment on dealers in the south. Also there is an airbag recall any time soon, so may pay to wait and get all done

together.

I had a saloon IS250 before the convertible and I had the plugs changed when the fuel pressure recall was done last year.  Lexus Cardiff only charged me for the plugs.....so that was a really good deal !
