Hi All,

i went to look at a 14 reg gs300h today at main dealer. Advert said full service history. When I went through service history it had a service in 15 at 10k but next service was completed at 30k? This means car ran for 20k over 15mths ish with same oil. Dealer said they had done major service to bring it upto date. This still doesn't get away from the fact that the car was supposed to have the oil changed at 10k or 12mths.

lexus dealer says it won't affect warranty but I'm concerned that there could be problems down the line. Am I being too cautious or am I right to be concerned. Car looks immaculate currently on 30500 miles.

Any advice would be appreciated

Seems a little strange, was it privately owned or business?

Provided that it has been filled with the correct specification oil when serviced I wouldn't be overly concerned, some makes decide on when the oil needs replacing electronically rather than on mileage or time and modern fully sythetic oils can go longer than the old mineral types.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, if they have given it a clean bill of health and it is done on time in the future, I can't see why it would be a problem. Modern oils have come a long way now and a lot of them can go further without degrading significantly - but stick to the schedule and you should be fine.

Doesn't the 300h run on 0-20 which is obviously very thin to begin with hence why the manufacturer states change at 10k or 12mths
